For those of your who started renting refs. Here are some guidelines:

1. Choose a time of day that you can click ads and eventually manage your referrals at the same time everyday.

2. Click all available ads everyday (when you get referrals this is necessary to earn from referral clicks).

3. Utilize all free methods of advertising to gain any direct referrals. Talk it up with your friends and relatives. Put a tagline on your e-mail signature. Post in forums. Use free traffic exchanges.

4. Once your account balance reaches $2. Transfer this money to your rental balance and rent 3 referrals. It is only $0.90 to rent the referrals but you will need the remainder to properly manage the referrals.

5. Put the autopay function on.

6. If a referral of yours has not clicked today or yesterday and has click average of less than 2.0 then recycle it ($0.0 and get a new referral. If they have a click average of between 2.0 and 4.0, I will give them 4 days before I recycle them. I will give those with an average of over 4.0 seven days to return and click just because I would hate to recycle a great referral just because they were on vacation for a week.

7. Whenever, one of your referrals goes below 20 days before next payment pay to add another 30 days. Below 20 days, the autopay function does not work and you will not get the savings for that referral.

Introduction

The game is based on the adventures of Lance, a human raised by demons, Phyllis, a girl with a shortened lifespan (which does not affect gameplay), Ami, a young little girl that does not age, and Carsise, a half-demon. The world they live in is made up of multiple continents and islands in which they travel by foot or by ship, killing monsters and other obstacles in their way with a wide variety of weapons.

The largest cities are all ports, although their climates are quite different, ranging from Shaitan’s deserts to Icicle’s frozen plains. It is in these cities in which newer characters slowly build up their skills and fighting prowess before adventuring into the unknown. Each fighting class does all of its class advancements in their corresponding city, e.g swordsmen change classes in Argent, hunters in Icicle, herbalists in Shaitan, etc.
Skills

Players of different classes have different and unique skills that assist them in battle. There are two types of skills: passive and initiate. Passive skills increase the character’s stats (attack, attack speed, defense, etc.) permanently, and affects his/ her performance all the time. Initiate skills, however, is temporary, so the initiate skills like Berserk, which tremendously increase the character’s attack speed for about 10 seconds, wears away after a period of time, unlike passive skills like Concentration, which permanently increase the character’s hit rate.[2]
Classes

Players can choose to be different classes, varying with their character. There are in total 10 classes, 4 belonging to the Primary Classes, which can be chosen at Level 10. Those classes include Swordsman (deals physical damage), Hunter (ranged class using bows), Explorer (deals powerful magical damage and has many bonuses on sailing), and herbalist (weak in offense but can heal other players and give them temporary bonuses on their stats- known as “buffing”). At Level 40, players can choose an advanced class depending on the character and the basic class. Those 6 classes include Crusader (a popular class, is very agile and deals melee damage), Champion (high defense with high HP, dealing high melee damage), Sharpshooter (high ranged damage, uses fireguns), Voyager (magical damage, even more bonuses for their boats), Cleric (more healing and supportive power), and Seal Master (similar to Cleric, but has more offense).[3] In the newest 2.0 version of the game, however, Phyllis could also be a Swordsman, and will be able to advance to be a crusader.

Herbalist

Herbalist is a magical class that uses stave’s to deal magical damage. They can also heal and help other party members by increasing their abilities. Herbalist can advance to cleric or a seal master. Ami and Phyllis can become a herbalist

New V 2.0 (PKO only)

The newest 2.0 version of the Singapore-based version of the game, Pirate King Online, will be released on Dec. 15, 2009. It features a new map, new mazes, new monsters, and new items. As well, Phyllis will be able to become a Swordsman and later a Crusader in the new version.[4]
Fairy Pets

Upon character creation the player starts with a level zero pet, they can also be obtained from other players, or from the item mall. The pets are fairies of various appearances, and their uses include giving the character extra stat points and learning special skills to help their masters in battle. Fairies are also necessary for some life skills like manufacturing. Other skills such as possession can double the pets benefits however drains the stamina of the pet by intervals of X6(novice possession), X4(standard possession), X2(Expert possession).
Guilds

Guilds in Tales of Pirates are groups of players allied together to benefit everyone, similar to many other games. To create a guild a Lv40 character, a Stone of Oath item, and one hundred thousand gold are needed. To join a guild, the player must be at least Lv20 and he/ she can apply for the guild at specific NPCs, and wait for the approval from the guild leader.
Item Mall Points

Although Tales of Pirates is free it also has a second in game currency known as item mall points. You can only obtain points by charging your account with real money via a number of payment methods such as Paypal, Google Checkout or Western Union. Players can use the points to purchase a number of character bonuses, armour upgrades or apparel (to customize their characters appearance).
Mazes

The game also contains many dungeon-like areas called mazes. The three main mazes, Forsaken City, Dark Swamp and Demonic World open in rotations of 3 hours each, and each maze has its own ranged level requirements. Generally, despite that the levels of the monsters in the mazes are not difficult relative to the player level range, the monsters are much stronger than normal monsters. The mazes are also one of the few PvP areas in the game, enabling players to fight not only the monsters in the maze, but each other as well.
Influences

There are characters and items that refer to Pirates of the Caribbean; the NPC Jack Arrow, who represents Jack Sparrow. William, a blacksmith, Elizabeth, Captain Barbossa, and even Davy Jones’ chest.

The game also borrows from the one of the most famous Shonen Jump manga and anime, “One Piece”. The item mall has many clothes representing some characters from the show. The same goes for Bleach and Naruto.

Not only that,but it also borrows from Disgaea:Hour of Darkness, though one would have to be an avid fan to notice most of it, some examples are: seal master first set of armor is the Disgaea archer’s outfit, the starter hairstyles #2, #4, and #5 for Phyllis are Disgaea archer, Etna, and Plenair, respectively. Lance’s starter styles borrow from all over the spectrum of anime/games, example: #4 is Sabata from Boktai ((official art hair not sprites)) #5 is Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7.
